Andy Colón serves as the Chief Legal Talent Officer at Arnold & Porter. He leads the firm's recruitment, professional development, legal personnel, and career and advancement efforts for the firm’s lawyers, overseeing all aspects of the legal talent management and development infrastructure. Andy develops and executes strategies aimed at enhancing and championing the recruitment and retention of top-tier legal talent, which includes overseeing law school recruitment initiatives and the firm’s successful summer associate program.
Andy also leads multiple professional development programs for the firm’s lawyers, including attorney training, continuing education, mentoring, and other initiatives, including employee relations, compensation, and evaluation processes. In collaboration with firm leadership, the Diversity & Inclusion and Human Resources teams, and other internal stakeholders, he has a key role in supporting inclusive efforts in recruiting and developing legal talent across the firm.
Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, he served as Chief Talent Officer and Director of Legal Recruiting and Development at Am Law 100 and 200 firms. His earlier career includes practicing as an antitrust litigator at an Am Law 50 firm and serving as a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice.
With over 25 years of experience in the legal industry, Andy is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics including legal recruiting, professional development, and multiculturalism.
