Joel Dahlquist

International Arbitration Advisor

Dr. Joel Dahlquist acts as an advisor in international arbitrations arising under investment treaties and contracts. In particular Joel has experience representing sovereign states in investor-state arbitrations.

Prior to joining the firm, Joel worked as tribunal secretary to arbitral tribunals in more than twenty large-scale international arbitrations, governed by the ICSID, SCC, UNCITRAL, and ICC rules, as well as ad hoc.

Before that, Joel worked as a full-time academic for six years, teaching public and private international law, as well as international commercial and investment arbitration, to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has also worked at the Arbitration Institute at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and as a law clerk at Södertörn District Court in Stockholm.

Joel maintains a keen interest in academia, and currently teaches international arbitration at the London School of Economics and Uppsala University, from where he also received his doctorate in public international law in 2019.
