Elise Henry focuses on environmental litigation and handles toxic tort and enforcement matters. She also has experience advising clients with respect to environmental regulatory and permitting issues under various federal and state environmental statutes, including the Clean Air Act (CAA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). She has a particular interest in expert work and commits much of her practice to developing and rebutting scientific evidence.
Experience
- Operator of uranium conversion facility in a putative property damages class action, multiple personal injury and wrongful death actions, and a suit brought by local government entities, all under the Price-Anderson Act, concerning alleged radioactive emissions from the facility. This complex litigation involves allegations of property damages and health effects within the local community resulting from alleged contamination by and exposure to radioactive materials.
- Global container shipping company in litigation related to oil spill off the coast of Huntington Beach, California.
- Major chemical company on Clean Air Act enforcement actions and litigation related to the acquisition and operation of a Louisiana neoprene plant and its emissions of chloroprene.
- Energy company in connection with various environmental litigation claims that allege contamination of legacy well sites.
