Jonathan Mellor advises corporate entities, high-net-worth individuals, and sovereign states on cross-border, high-value commercial litigation, and commercial arbitration disputes in a wide range of areas, including shareholder disputes, partnership/joint venture disputes, contractual disputes, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duties.

Jonathan represents clients in a variety of sectors, including shipping, private equity, banking and finance, energy, and pharmaceuticals. His commercial litigation experience involves disputes before the Commercial Court and the Court of Appeal. Jonathan has experience in commercial arbitrations conducted under a range of arbitral rules, including the LCIA and the LMAA.

Jonathan also regularly undertakes contentious pro bono work.

Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Jonathan worked as a judicial assistant in the Court of Appeal to Sir Geoffrey Vos MR, and was awarded the Clifford Chance Prize in Principles of Civil Procedure while studying for the Bachelor of Civil Law at the University of Oxford.
