Jessica Nemeth advises clients on all aspects of European competition and antitrust laws, including cartels, abuse-of-dominance, and merger filing proceedings. Her experience covers several industry sectors, including cybersecurity, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemicals, semiconductors, energy, aviation, and aluminum.

Prior to joining the firm, Jessica worked at a leading U.S. law firm in Brussels. She also worked as in-house counsel at a Dutch multinational in the Amsterdam headquarters, where she focused on designing, implementing, and monitoring the antitrust and anti-bribery compliance program. She won the 2021 Ruben Perea Competition Law Writing Award organized by the renowned publication Journal of European Competition Law and Practice (JECLAP).

Experience

  • Novo Nordisk on European and other international antitrust and regulatory approvals in connection with its US$11 billion acquisition of three fill-finish sites from Novo Holdings A/S (Novo Holdings). As part of the deal, valued at US$16.5 billion, Novo Holdings will acquire (through a merger) Catalent, Inc., a NYSE listed CDMO headquartered in New Jersey.
  • Palo Alto Networks, Inc. in obtaining international antitrust and foreign direct investment clearances for its acquisition of certain cybersecurity Software as Service (SaaS) assets from IBM.
  • Boston Scientific in securing international antitrust clearances for its US$3.7 billion acquisition of Axonics, Inc. 
  • Boston Scientific in obtaining international antitrust clearances for its acquisition of B.Braun’s EVT Business.
  • Aluminum multinational company in securing a phase II merger control clearance from the European Commission.*
  • Airline company in securing a phase II merger control clearance from the European Commission.*
  • Semiconductor company in connection with a cartel investigation conducted by the Brazilian Antitrust Authority (CADE).*
  • Commodities company in securing a merger control clearance from the Brazilian Antitrust Authority (CADE) in connection with the acquisition of its oilseed crushing plants.*
