Senior Associate

Sarah Prather represents clients in complex commercial, product liability, and toxic tort litigation in federal and state court. She has experience representing clients in matters involving breach of contract, personal injury, property damage, environmental, and consumer protection claims at all phases of litigation, including case strategy and assessment, fact and expert discovery, motion practice, and trial. Sarah’s experience includes drafting motions and briefs, overseeing discovery and fact investigation, working with experts to develop reports and testimony, and preparing cases for trial.

Sarah maintains an active pro bono practice. She is currently representing transgender women prisoners in civil rights actions in federal court. Sarah’s experience includes reaching a favorable resolution of a AAA arbitration matter for a mental health nonprofit in a contract dispute involving a software platform; securing equal public education services for a New York City child each year for six school years; and obtaining legal permanent resident status for an asylee.

  • Fortune 100 company in defending against multiple personal injury and property damage lawsuits brought by residents living near a former lead manufacturing facility. Obtained dismissal with prejudice or favorable resolution of all actions.
  • P&I (protection and indemnity) club and its member in defense of multiple personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from a collision between two vessels in the Strait of Singapore. Obtained favorable resolution of all claims.
  • Fortune 100 company in defense of multiple permitting and tort actions brought by government entities and private landowners claiming that historic oil and gas activities in Louisiana have contributed to coastal land loss.
  • Pharmaceutical company in contract dispute concerning intellectual property rights to develop a pharmaceutical compound, leading to successful resolution.
  • Consumer products company in litigation involving contract disputes in state courts.
  • Private equity firm in connection with contractual allocation of environmental liabilities and indemnities associated with purchase of industrial site.
  • Fortune 100 company, as a member of the trial team, in successfully defending against product liability claims brought by plaintiffs alleging personal injury from ingesting lead pigment in residential paint.
  • Consumer product company in putative class action litigation related to an alleged product safety hazard following a product recall. Obtained favorable resolution of lawsuit.
