Esther Sohn represents clients across a range of antitrust and competition matters, including complex civil litigation, government reviews of mergers and acquisitions, and investigations. Esther has experience before the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, the Federal Trade Commission, and state enforcement agencies. Her industry experience includes life sciences, publishing, media, fine arts, food and beverage, and telecommunications.

Esther received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she served on the Senior Board of the New York University Law Review. During law school, Esther served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Patty Shwartz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Esther received her B.S.F.S. from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, summa cum laude.

  • AbbVie in its US$8.7 billion acquisition of Cerevel Therapeutics.
  • Pfizer in its US$43 billion acquisition of Seagen Inc., a world leader in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs).
  • HarperCollins Publishers in securing dismissals of putative antitrust class actions related to the sale of electronic and print books brought against major book publishers and technology company.
  • Sotheby’s in civil litigation involving allegations of fraud related to the purchase and sale of numerous art masterpieces, valued at up to US$1 billion.
  • Generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer in consolidated federal multi-district litigation involving several dozen direct and indirect purchaser class action complaints, as well as State Attorneys General actions. 
  • Dunkin' Brands in investigation, litigation, and favorable settlement of a State Attorney General lawsuit involving consumer data security and privacy protection claims.
