Dustin Vesey assists clients in a variety of national security and government contracting matters, focusing particularly on sanctions and export control compliance, including with respect to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions.
Dustin received his law degree magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an articles editor for the Georgetown Law Journal. He simultaneously earned a dual Master of Science in Foreign Service degree from the university’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he served as a section editor for the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs. While in law school, Dustin interned with the Department of State’s Office of the Legal Adviser, the Department of Justice’s National Security Division in the Office of Law and Policy, and the Defense Intelligence Agency. He also participated in the university’s Impact Constitutional Advocacy Practicum, where he worked on cases fighting police brutality, advocating for humane conditions for the incarcerated, and defending democracy by holding accountable fake electors who sought to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. presidential election. He received his undergraduate degree with distinction from Yale University.
Prior to law school, Dustin was a Fulbright Scholar in Malaysia and served for more than three years as a staffer in the U.S. Senate, where he primarily handled defense and foreign affairs matters, as well as judicial confirmations. He was the first in his family to graduate from college.
