Julia Wingfield focuses primarily on environmental litigation as well as environmental enforcement and regulatory compliance matters. She has experience litigating under several federal environmental statutes, including the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), as well as related state environmental statutes. Julia also maintains an active pro-bono practice, including post-conviction work in D.C. Superior Court and disability rights impact litigation. 

Julia received her law degree, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University College of Law, where she served as the Managing Editor for the Syracuse Law Review and member of the Advocacy Honor Society. Additionally, Julia interned at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.

Experience

  • Chemours in toxic tort lawsuits brought by water utilities and homeowners alleging contamination of drinking water from perfluorinated chemicals (PFAS) at the company's facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
  • Honeywell International in actions seeking contribution from oil companies for natural resource damages and cleanup costs for the remediation of Onondaga Lake in Syracuse, New York.
