Policymaker Speaker Series: Featuring Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (D-CA)

During this webinar, the fourteenth in our Policymaker Speaker Series, attorney turned California State Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan participated in a moderated Q&A session to discuss her day-to-day responsibilities and interests in her current role, California's response to the COVID-19 crisis, anticipated issues for the 2021 legislative session, and her experience transitioning from legal to government service.

Assemblymember Bauer-Kahan was elected in 2018 to serve California's 16th Assembly District and quickly ascended to a leadership role as Assistant Speaker pro Tempore. She serves on several policy committees, ranging from the Privacy and Consumer Protection Committee to the Banking and Finance Committee, and also founded and chairs the Select Committee on Women's Reproductive Health. Prior to serving in the Legislature, she practiced law at a large firm, where she oversaw and grew her office's pro bono program, and taught appellate law at Santa Clara University and Golden Gate University.
