ESG Series: Part I: An Overview for Legal Professionals
While the term ESG is seemingly everywhere — with its proponents and detractors — the framework for businesses to address environmental, social, and governance factors still may be elusive.
The ABA’s new book Environmental, Social, Governance: The Professional’s Guide to the Law and Practice of ESG provides companies and their advisors with practical advice to address the rapidly evolving ESG landscape. This webinar series will highlight and expand on key topics addressed in the book and explore the wide array of subjects that ESG encompasses.
Our first program will be presented by the editors of the ABA book, Brian Israel, Ellen Fleishhacker, and Teresa Johnson. They will explore the history of ESG, the legal underpinning of stakeholder capitalism, and the broad-reaching implications for companies.
