Securities and Enforcement Litigation partner Daniel M. Hawke was quoted in an article from Law360 discussing a recent petition filed with the Supreme Court challenging the SEC's anti-money laundering (AML) enforcement practices. Hawke, a former head of the SEC's Market Abuse Unit, comments on whether the Supreme Court will grant certiorari to Alpine Securities' challenge to a Second Circuit decision upholding the SEC's authority to enforce Securities Exchange Act Rule 17a-8 against broker dealers who fail to file, or file insufficient, Suspicious Activity Reports under the Bank Secrecy Act.
