Shenkman Featured in Inside EPA’s Climate Extra on Biden Administration Climate Policy Goals
Partner Ethan Shenkman was featured in a recent article from Inside EPA's Climate Extra discussing the implementation of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technologies, a "critical pillar" of the Biden Administration's strategy to address climate change. Shenkman, who served as the Deputy General Counsel at the EPA prior to joining Arnold & Porter, explains how the administration can address concerns from environmental justice advocates and emphasize the economic and job benefits of such technologies to achieve their climate policy goals.
Mr. Shenkman brings more than 16 years of government experience to bear in guiding his clients through complex regulatory and enforcement challenges. He served for seven years as a political appointee in the Obama Administration. In addition to his time at the EPA, Shenkman also as Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the US Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division. He previously served as a career attorney and litigator at DOJ.
