Norberg Quoted in Law360 on Whistleblower Internal Reporting Gap
Securities and Enforcement Litigation partner Jane Norberg was quoted in a recent Law360 article, “Surge In Tips To SEC Exposes Gaps In Internal Reporting.” The article notes that, while the SEC whistleblower program received a 75% increase in tips from whistleblowers during 2021, the number of whistleblowers reporting within their companies before contacting the SEC decreased from prior years. Norberg, who served as Chief of the Office of the Whistleblower prior to joining Arnold & Porter, advises companies to reevaluate their internal reporting structures and increase training to help close the internal reporting gap and ensure that companies are able to investigate allegations prior to getting a regulator involved.
