Schultz Quoted in The National Law Journal on Finalization of ESG Rules

Securities Enforcement & Litigation partner Christian Schultz was quoted in The National Law Journal article, “Uncertainty, Inevitability Abound as SEC Crawls Toward Finalization of ESG Rules.” The article focuses on the future of the SEC's involvement in ESG and the impact of the agency’s pending rules.

Using insights from his former role as SEC Assistant Chief Litigation Counsel, Schultz discussed how some companies see ESG initiatives as a way to build their businesses, while others want to ensure they do not fall behind or lose a competitive edge. Schultz also noted that if companies tout their ESG-related endeavors to appeal to the broad public, the SEC will take time and effort to ensure that they do so fairly and transparently.
