Intellectual Property and Technology partner Dr. Beatriz San Martin was recently quoted in The Global Legal Post article, “Thomson Reuters dispute with AI start-up to go to jury trial in US.” The article discusses a judge’s recent ruling denying summary judgement in the lawsuit between media company Thomson Reuters and AI start-up Ross Intelligence.
Dr. San Martin told The Global Legal Post that the case — which is primed to be the first AI copyright case to be heard in court — could become “a leading decision” for U.S. courts when they consider “whether and how copyright may be infringed by AI systems” in the future.
