Artificial Intelligence Post-Chevron: Peter Schildkraut Discusses Regulatory Impact in Bloomberg Law
Peter Schildkraut, co-leader of the firm's Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry group, was recently quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, "Biden AI Rules Face Heightened Scrutiny in Post-Chevron World."
The article notes that following the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision to overturn the Chevron doctrine, companies might feel encouraged to challenge new regulations they view as obstructive to the artificial intelligence industry.
Addressing concerns about the federal government's ability to set AI regulations post-Chevron, Schildkraut stated that “...federal agency leaders have repeatedly emphasized that there is no AI exception to existing laws. If someone uses an AI system to do something that would be unlawful using different — or no— technology, it will be unlawful."
