Timothy Smyth Explores How UK Government's Reforms Will Reshape UK Arbitration Law in Global Arbitration Review

International Arbitration senior associate Timothy Smyth was recently quoted in the Global Arbitration Review article, "New UK Government To Press Ahead With Arbitration Reforms." The article covers the Labour government's plans to continue the process of reforming the UK's arbitration legislation following their recent election.
Smyth told GAR that Labour did not include the Arbitration Bill in their manifesto, "so it is pleasing to see that it is near the top of the legislative agenda for the new government." He added that the proposed reforms "seek to strengthen England's competitiveness as a destination for parties to resolve their disputes via arbitration, rather than in the courts."
