Who Is Liable When AI Causes Harm? Tom Magnani Shares Insights in Bloomberg Law

Tom Magnani, head of the firm’s Technology Transactions practice and co-chair of the Technology, Media, & Telecommunications industry group, was recently quoted in the Bloomberg Law article, “The AI Questions That Keep Legal Departments Awake at Night.”
Magnani addressed the question of where liability lies when AI causes harm, noting that until the legislators and courts catch up, the “default for a long time is going to be, ‘Buyer beware—caveat emptor,” and that the customer needs to understand the risks of using these tools and should use them as an aid in their work rather than a replacement for their own judgment.
