Financial Times and BBC Talk Tariffs With Former Commerce Official Lynn Fischer Fox
Lynn Fischer Fox, International Trade partner and former Deputy Assistant Secretary with the U.S. Department of Commerce, was recently featured in Financial Times and BBC News for her insights on the trade implications of President Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariff rollout.
In the Financial Times article “What is Donald Trump’s ‘liberation day’ for trade?” Fischer Fox discussed how quickly tariffs could take effect under emergency powers: “If he does it under IEEPA, I think our experience from the Mexico and Canada and China tariffs says it could happen almost instantaneously.”
In BBC News’ “World Business Report” podcast episode “Businesses prepare for Trumps ‘Liberation Day,’” Lynn pointed out that it will be very difficult for companies, especially those in North American integrated supply chains. She added that reciprocal tariffs may also cause further disruptions in supply chains.
