Arnold & Porter's Environmental practice was featured in a recent E&E News article that discusses the firm's commitment to legal advocacy addressing climate change issues.

Partner Brian Israel, who chairs Arnold & Porter's Environmental practice, spotlights the firm's pro bono work on behalf of clients developing renewable energy projects; in 2019, the firm jointly formed the Renewable Energy Legal Defense Initiative with the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia Law School to provide pro bono litigation assistance to community groups and individuals supporting renewable energy resources that are facing local opposition. Senior counsel Michael Gerrard, who is also Director at the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law, notes in the article that attorneys are increasingly interested in using their professional skills to combat climate change.
