Trotter, Kamras, Mayo Recognized in Daily Journal 2020 'California Lawyers of the Year Awards' Report

Arnold & Porter partners Rhonda Trotter, Jeremy Kamras and senior counsel Sharon D. Mayo were named to Daily Journal's 2020 "California Lawyers of the Year Awards" report for their representation of Planned Parenthood resulting in compensatory and punitive damages totaling more than $2 million.

Daily Journal writes that "a political uproar erupted" in response to videos surreptitiously recorded by anti-abortion activists, which gave rise to the Planned Parenthood case. In a six-week jury trial that began on October 2, 2019, the pro bono Arnold & Porter team successfully demonstrated the defendants embarked on a quest to destroy Planned Parenthood that included a disregard for the law and consequences to doctors and staff.

Daily Journal also named the team's work for Planned Parenthood to its 2019 "Top Verdicts" report.
