Arnold & Porter Again Named to Top 10 on The American Lawyer's 'Pro Bono Scorecard'
Arnold & Porter was again named a top-10 firm on The American Lawyer’s “Pro Bono Scorecard” for both national and international pro bono work.
In 2020, firm lawyers provided more than 121,000 hours of pro bono service. Arnold & Porter lawyers handle a diverse array of pro bono matters, including civil rights litigation, criminal justice reform, immigration, housing, poverty law, reducing gun violence, and transactional, regulatory and public policy matters. In response to widespread unemployment resulting from the pandemic-related economic disruption, the firm pioneered a national program providing pro bono unemployment benefits assistance to hundreds of low-income workers. The firm currently represents pro bono clients in multiple litigations challenging limitations and impediments to the right to vote. Regardless of the subject matter, our pro bono program is committed to achieving equal access to justice and the rule of law.
The "Pro Bono Scorecard" annually ranks Am Law 200 firms based on pro bono hours performed by their attorneys, along with the percentage of attorneys who performed more than 20 hours of pro bono work. Firms are scored separately for work performed by US attorneys and by attorneys outside the US.
