Pippins Named to Washington Business Journal’s 2021 '40 Under 40' List
Arnold & Porter partner Raqiyyah Pippins, who co-leads the firm’s Consumer Products & Retail industry team, was named to Washington Business Journal’s 2021 “40 Under 40” list. The annual report “shines a light” on “standout” attorneys and corporate leaders in the Washington, DC area under the age of 40.
In its profile, Washington Business Journal highlighted Pippins for her “impressive” client list that “includes some of the largest US retailers, global personal care product companies and Fortune 500 players.” Pippins focuses her practice in the areas of FDA's regulation of food, dietary supplement, cosmetic, drug and medical-device products sold directly to consumers as well as FTC and state regulation of the marketing and sale of consumer products.
In addition to discussing her work on consumer, food and drug regulatory issues and compliance at Arnold & Porter, Washington Business Journal commended Pippins for her leadership in expanding the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. Most recently, Pippins helped establish the firm’s partnership with the National Bar Association on a project designed to support the retention, and accelerate the advancement, of Black attorneys. Pippins explains that she is motivated to work on such projects to “pay forward similar support she received early in her own career.”
“I would not be where I am today without the sacrifice, thoughtfulness and commitment of other attorneys who came before me,” Pippins told the publication, noting that those attorneys “did not hesitate to reach back to make a way for me too.”
