Boston Recognized by 'City & State New York' and New York Bar Association

March 11, 2022

Product Liability Litigation partner Sheila S. Boston was again named to City & State New York's "Law Power 100," an annual list of the leading legal professionals in New York politics and government. This year, the list included "district attorneys, federal prosecutors, white-collar defense attorneys, public interest lawyers, law school deans and bar association leaders who have shaped New York politics and government." Boston was also named to the list in 2021.

Boston was included in the list after becoming the first woman of color installed as president of the 150-year-old New York City Bar Association in 2020. Her presidency has been marked by her focus on COVID-19 Recovery Projects; Mental Health & Wellness; Access to Justice; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Criminal Justice Reform; and Protection of the Rule of Law. City & State New York highlighted some of the initiatives the New York City Bar Association will undertake in 2022 under Boston's leadership, including a push to overhaul the state Joint Commission on Public Ethics and expanding tenants' access to legal representation during eviction proceedings.

Boston also was recently a recipient of an "Epiq Women Organization Award" during the New York City Bar Association's Third Annual International Law Conference on the Status of Women. Recipients of the Epiq Women Organization Awards are women who "are fiercely dedicated to advancing human rights, safety, and economic opportunities for women and girls. Their contributions to equity and empowering other women are immeasurable but absolutely recognizable.
