Daily Journal Names Berta and Fishman to 2022 ‘Top Intellectual Property Lawyers’
Arnold & Porter partners Deborah Fishman and Michael Berta were named to the Daily Journal’s 2022 list of “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers.” The annual supplement recognizes California’s standout intellectual property lawyers and spotlights their practices.
Daily Journal’s profile of Fishman highlighted her recent litigation success representing biopharmaceutical and medical device companies in patent and commercial disputes. Daily Journal also noted her involvement in a patent case involving antibody therapeutics, which Fishman and the Arnold & Porter team won at the district court and on appeal, which is poised to reach the US Supreme Court.
Currently, Fishman is also handling complex commercial disputes including those arising from mergers and acquisitions.
In Daily Journal’s profile of Berta, the publication highlighted his success with numerous high-profile clients, including his work with longtime client Crocs, Inc. Berta discussed his success in a lawsuit accusing multiple companies of selling knockoff Crocs and a counterclaim accusing Crocs of false advertising under the Lanham Act.
Arnold & Porter and Berta are currently working with Crocs to assert additional IP protecting Crocs’s iconic footwear in new litigation before the ITC and in district courts around the country.
