The American Lawyer Names Hodgson, Lent to 2022 'Northeast Trailblazers' List
The American Lawyer named Arnold & Porter partners Mélida Hodgson and Scott Lent to its 2022 “Northeast Trailblazers” list. The special supplement, which is in its second year, profiles individuals in the Northeast region who have "moved the needle in the legal industry."
Hodgson, a partner in the firm’s International Arbitration practice, was recognized for her more than two decades of experience representing clients in investor-State and commercial arbitrations. Hodgson told The American Lawyer that she was attracted to the field of international arbitration because she “found it an ideal way to be an advocate.” She said that international arbitration has “grown exponentially and has become more accessible.” Hodgson added that she foresees international arbitration becoming the “premier means of dispute resolution” for parties from different national jurisdictions.
The publication highlighted Lent, a partner in the firm’s Antitrust/Competition practice, for his varied work in the antitrust space, including his accomplishments in the media, entertainment, and sports sectors. Lent told The American Lawyer that he enjoys “helping media and sports clients comply with the antitrust laws while serving their customers and strongly competing in dynamic marketplaces.” As an example, Lent pointed to an “interesting set of sports matters” that he’s been working on where he advised several sports teams in “successfully defending aspects of their sales and marketing practices against antitrust claims.”
