Justice Richter Honored with SAGE’s Paula Ettelbrick Community Service Award
Arnold & Porter senior counsel Rosalyn Richter was recently honored with the “Paula Ettelbrick Community Service Award” at the 26th annual SAGE Awards & Gala. Justice Richter was recognized for her “activism on behalf of and for the LGBTQ+ Community.” Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) is a non-profit organization working to provide “advocacy, services and support to older members of the LGBTQ+ community.”
SAGE highlighted Justice Richter’s work helping to “train judges and lawyers throughout the United States” and for her commitment to pro bono services that help advance “civil rights, including for the LGBTQ community, and increasing diversity in the legal profession.”
Justice Richter was also recently recognized at the New York Legal Awards with a Lifetime Achievement award. Earlier this year she was named a notable LGBTQ leader by Crain’s New York.
Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, Justice Richter served as an Associate Justice in the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court, First Department, for over a decade. In that role, she presided over a diverse range of complex issues, including significant commercial and real estate matters, and criminal and matrimonial cases. As a scholar and leader in the legal industry, Justice Richter also serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School and has previously taught at Brooklyn and New York Law Schools. She has helped train judges and lawyers throughout the United States and is firmly committed to pro bono service, advancing civil rights, including for the LGBTQ community, and increasing diversity in the legal profession.
