Women Lawyers of Alameda County Recognizes Johnson as 2022 Attorney of Distinction
Teresa Johnson, co-head of Arnold & Porter’s Capital Markets practice, was recognized as the 2022 Attorney of Distinction by The Women Lawyers of Alameda County at the group’s 41stAnnual Judges’ Reception in Oakland, California. This award was given to Johnson to celebrate her “contributions and commitment to the legal field and to women’s issues.”
The Women Lawyers of Alameda County’s mission is to “promote the interests of women, including but not limited to women lawyers, women judges, and women law students.” The group works to support women in the legal industry and offers educational, networking, and socializing opportunities for law students and new admittees.
Johnson advises clients on corporate and finance matters, often serving as a trusted advisor to the C-suite and board members. She also advises clients on securities transactions, and compliance and reporting matters. Johnson has focused in particular on board diversity, stakeholder capitalism and other ESG matters. She is one of the founders and leaders of the Legal Alliance for Reproductive Rights, a coalition formed by the Bar Association of San Francisco, the San Francisco City Attorney and nearly 70 law firms, which connects women and pregnant people, providers and supporters with pro bono legal support after the fall of Roe v. Wade.
Earlier this year Johnson was recognized as a leader in the LGBTQ community at the San Francisco Business Times’s Business of Pride Awards.
