Arnold & Porter Advises Brazil on US$2.25 Billion Bond Issue
Arnold & Porter advised the Federative Republic of Brazil on its recent US$2.25 billion SEC-registered offer and sale of 6.000% Global Bonds due 2033, which closed on April 13. The transaction represented Brazil's first international bond issue since July 2021.
The Arnold & Porter team included partners Whitney Debevoise and Gregory Harrington, counsel Carlos Pelaez, and associates Mateo Morris and Valentina Garzon. To date in 2023, the firm's Sovereign Finance team has represented issuers in over US$20 billion in international bond transactions, for Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Hungary, Panamá and Turkey.
This deal is the latest example of the firm’s unique ability to advise clients, including sovereign issuers, in complex international securities transactions, utilizing the firm’s deep knowledge of legal, regulatory, economic, and political factors involved in global capital markets.
