Washington Business Journal Names Deal Led by Arnold & Porter’s Real Estate Group “Best Real Estate Deal” of 2023

Arnold & Porter's representation of Crowell & Moring LLP on a new office space lease in Washington, D.C. was named the "Best Real Estate Deal" of 2023 by Washington Business Journal. The 200,000-square-foot pre-lease at the former Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) headquarters at Judiciary Square was the biggest private-sector deal in the District of Columbia since 2019 and kick-started the building's US$375 million renovation and expansion. Partner Jennifer Perkins led the team that represented the tenant in the lease while Real Estate co-chair Amy Rifkind led the representation of the owner in the ground lease of the property from WMATA and its planned redevelopment of the building into a 400,000-square-foot trophy office space.
