Arnold & Porter Advises Intel in Negotiating Multi-Billion Dollar CHIPS Act Grant

Arnold & Porter served as lead counsel to Intel Corporation in negotiating a significant grant under the CHIPS and Science Act. CHIPS Act funding aims to increase U.S. semiconductor manufacturing and research and development capabilities.
On November 25, 2024, the U.S. Department of Commerce awarded Intel up to $7.8 billion in direct funding to advance the development of microchip fabrication facilities at Intel sites in Arizona, New Mexico, Ohio and Oregon. The firm also represents Intel on a $3 billion contract with the U.S. Department of Defense for trusted manufacturing of advanced semiconductors for national security.
