The Veterans Consortium Names Arnold & Porter ‘Pro Bono Mission Partner of the Year’
Arnold & Porter was named “Law Firm Pro Bono Mission Partner of the Year” at The Veterans Consortium’s (TVC) 2024 Pro Bono Mission Partner Awards ceremony on November 13, 2024. The annual awards program for excellence in veterans law recognizes individuals and companies who “fight for those who fought for us.”
Arnold & Porter was recognized for its steadfast commitment to pro bono legal work on behalf of veterans under the leadership of partner Thomas Stoever. The firm’s long-standing pro bono advocacy of veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims dates back to 1993, when Stoever began collaborating with TVC. Since then, Arnold & Porter lawyers have taken the lead in over 30 cases for TVC, including Henderson v. Shinseki, which reached the U.S. Supreme Court and resulted in a unanimous, favorable ruling. TVC praised the firm for providing “full legal resources to veterans in need” and for leading “in the establishment of veterans law legal precedent.” In the past year alone, Arnold & Porter dedicated nearly 600 hours to TVC-related matters.
TVC is a national nonprofit that trains and mentors hundreds of lawyers, law students, law firms, and corporate in-house counsel and is committed to providing free legal representation to veterans in need.
