Arnold & Porter’s Government Contracts & National Security practice was named to the 2024 edition of Law360’s “Practice Groups of the Year” list. The annual ranking honors the attorney teams responsible for litigation victories and major transaction work that “resonated throughout the legal industry” in 2024. The list highlights firms with “standout matters and groundbreaking legal work.”
Law360 lauded the firm’s multidisciplinary Government Contracts & National Security practice for its outstanding work on high-profile matters in 2024. Notable achievements included the team’s successful bid protest litigation in the Court of Federal Claims enjoining the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) from following a Government Accountability Office (“GAO”) recommendation and directing NGA to reinstate our client’s professional services contract, as well as its representation of an international defense, aerospace, and security company to successfully protest a US$12 billion U.S. Air Force missile support award to another company.
In other protest news, the group intervened and successfully defended US$1 billion in medical supply contracts for one of the largest privately-held manufacturers and distributors of medical supplies. Additionally, the group teamed with Arnold & Porter’s Corporate M&A attorneys to work on several high-profile M&A matters involving government contracts and contractors, including representing Amentum in its acquisition of Jacobs’ Critical Mission Solutions (CMS) and Cyber and Intelligence (C&I) businesses. This acquisition created a new leader in systems integration and technology solutions; the combined organization will be a publicly traded company with US$13 billion in revenue and more than 53,000 employees in 83 countries. Additionally, the group represented technology companies in CHIPS Act funding negotiations with the U.S. Department of Commerce for the domestic manufacturing of leading-edge semiconductor chips in the U.S., and advised life sciences companies, industry associations, and a management consulting firm on the supply chain implications and national security aspects of proposed bipartisan legislation, including the BIOSECURE Act.
