Development projects often entail some form of public participation or public/private partnership. In the District, we regularly engage with the Office of The Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and District agencies like the Department of Transportation and the Department of General Services. And we have been at the cutting edge of many of the District’s public funding initiatives for development, including the DC Tax Increment Financing law, the Downtown Retail Incentive Act, and the legislation establishing a special assessment district for the New York Avenue Metro Station.
