Will Needle is engaged in a broad-based practice involving all aspects of federal taxation. Mr. Needle advises corporate and individual clients and family offices on a wide variety of issues arising in the course of tax planning, corporate transactions, investing in or sponsoring private equity and hedge funds, compensation arrangements, wealth transfer planning, and tax audit and controversy work. He advises clients on taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, and negotiates, drafts and structures partnership and limited liability company agreements in fund formation and other transactional matters, both for sponsors and investors. Mr. Needle provides international tax planning for high net worth individuals, including advising on inbound and outbound investments, family wealth preservation, succession planning, tax information reporting and compliance in a cross-border context, and pre-immigration and expatriation tax planning. He also advises clients on California income, sales/use, and property tax issues.
In addition to over 20 years in private legal practice, Mr. Needle spent more than 5 years as a product developer and director of technical design at software company Lawgic, where he created legal software for lawyers that efficiently produces wills, trusts and other estate planning documents.
