Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards Shortlists Arnold Porter
Arnold & Porter has been shortlisted for the “Innovative Lawyers in Pro Bono” category at the 2024 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards. The team was recognized for their work in C.M., et al. v. United States in which they sought justice for asylum-seeking families forcibly separated by the United States government. The Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards celebrate the “innovative ways lawyers are delivering value for clients and driving positive change in the profession.”
Working with immigration and civil rights organizations, over 230 Arnold & Porter lawyers and staff put in over 27,000 hours litigating a first-of-its-kind lawsuit, serving as coordinating counsel in global settlement efforts, and representing clients in immigration proceedings. As a result of the firm’s work, the government was forced to compensate families for one of the most controversial policies in our nation’s history, and families who suffered unspeakable harm had an advocate to tell their stories and fight on their behalf.
The Arnold & Porter team included Diana Reiter, Lucy McMillan, Erik Walsh, Stanton Jones, Kaitlyn Schaeffer, Julia Kindlon, Emily Reeder-Ricchetti, Harry Fidler, and many others.
