Capital Snapshot: A Monthly Overview of the Issues, Events, Timelines, and Polling Data Driving Federal Policy Decisions
Our Legislative & Public Policy team is pleased to provide the October edition of “Capital Snapshot,” a monthly summary of the issues, events, and timelines driving federal policy decisions prior to the midterm elections. This month, we look at the upcoming pertinent policy and political priorities for Congress during the post-election Lame Duck period. We also provide insight into the progress of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the recently passed continuing resolution (CR), the status of FY 2023 appropriations, anti-trust legislation, and legislation that would ban senior government officials from trading or owning stocks. Furthermore, we provide an overview of the current midterm elections landscape, including campaigns for the Senate, House, and Governor’s offices. We also assess what trends and polls are revealing about prospects for both major political parties just one month away from Election Day.
